Manoj Chacko, Executive Vice-President, Marketing, Kingfisher Airlines, has resigned from the cash-strapped airline. Chacko is possibly the second senior level Kingfisher officer to quit, although there has been a steady stream of pilots, engineers and others leaving. While airline officials refused to confirm the development, at least two persons claimed that Chacko had sent in his resignation letter, which was yet to be accepted by the management.
Chacko, who worked with Kingfisher prior to joining American Express in 2006, returned to the airline in December 2009 as Executive Vice-President, Commercial. Sources claimed that it was the “leadership style” of senior level people in the airline, who were not the owners, that is said to have been the reason for Chacko putting in his papers. Sources said it will be incorrect to say that he left because of not being paid salary, which was one of the primary causes for pilots and others leaving.
