Kochi Metro Board today failed to take a decision on the agency which would execute the Rs 5,181 crore project, the foundation stone of which was laid by the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh last month.
The board, which met here today, was expected to take a call on the executing agency and legal issues that are reportedly delaying the handing over of work to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
The meeting was attended by Urban Development Secretary, Sudheer Krishna, who is also DMRC and Kochi Metro chairman, state Chief secretary K Jayakumar and seven other members.
A DMRC board member told the meeting that DMRC will not take any work outside Delhi without the board’s permission.
The Kochi Metro board’s next meeting is likely on November 15.
The board decided to ask DMRC if it was agreeable for them to take up the Kochi Metro work.
