Mihin Lanka, Sri Lanka’s domestic airline, has announced its schedule to operate flight services from Madurai to Colombo from December 7.
Rohana Pereira, Head, Commercial, Mihin Lanka, in a press meet here on Saturday, said that three aircraft would be operated between Madurai and Colombo from December 7 on all Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and more aircrafts would be operated in future as Sri Lankan tourists are keen to visit the famous temples in South India.
S. Rethinavelu, senior president of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce, said that a request had been made to the Civil Aviation Department to convert the old terminal building in Madurai airport to a cargo terminal.
