A three-member team from the Ministry of Shipping visited Haldia port on Friday to carry out an “internal inquiry” into the recent impasse, sources said.
According to a Kolkata Port Trust (KOPT) official, who declined to be named, the team comprises S. Tripathy, deputy secretary (ST), Ministry of Shipping; Anuj Agrawal, public private partnership expert of the Ministry, and A. Janardhana Rao, Managing Director of Indian Ports Association.
The KoPT official said the Ministry has ordered an inquiry to look into law and order situation at Haldia dock complex. “The team will also investigate the impasse that led ABG-LDA-run contractor Haldia Bulk Terminals to exit from Haldia,” he added.
