A special superfast train will be run between Chennai Central and Mangalore Junction to clear the extra rush of passengers during Onam festival season.
A press release by the Palakkad division of Southern Railways said here that Chennai Central – Mangalore Junction Superfast special and Mangalore Junction -Chennai Central Special: train no. 06003 Chennai Central – Mangalore Junction Superfast Special will leave Chennai Central at 9 p.m. on September 14 and 21, and reach Mangalore Junction at 12.45 p.m. the next day.
The train no. 06004 Mangalore Junction – Chennai Central Special will leave Mangalore Junction at 2.45 p.m. on September 15 and 22, and reach Chennai Central at 7.45 a.m. the next day.
The composition of the trains will be one AC 2-tier, four AC3-tier, 11 Sleeper Class, three general second class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Gudiyattam, Vaniyambadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikkode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod.The train no. 06004 will stop at Perambur also, the release added.
