Flight operations remained unaffected at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Tuesday despite heightened security after a terror alert issued by central intelligence agencies.

“In general, security has been increased at the airport with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) as well as the Mumbai police in charge of security. Flight operations though continued to remain normal,” an airport spokesperson said.

General alerts were also given to other airports in the region. The Central Government has advised all states bordering Maharashtra, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Goa to be on alert.
