Work hit at Vizag port’s ore-handling complex

Our Bureau Updated - November 23, 2017 at 04:02 PM.

Work was paralysed on Friday in the iron ore-handling complex (OHC) at Visakhapatnam port, as workers went on a strike in protest against the privatisation of OHC even though a petition was pending in the AP High Court.

The union representatives said that the MoU was being signed later today (Friday) in Chennai in the presence of Union Shipping Minister G.K Vasan. Two more projects – commissioning of a unified command centre at Visakhapatnam port and also the dedication of the EQ-1 berth at Vizag port – were also being inaugurated .
