The Airports Authority of India plans to rope in private players to operate, manage and develop airports in Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.The AAI has issued a request for qualification tender seeking applications from domestic and international companies to participate in the project, which will be on a public-private-partnership mode. The AAI had invested around ₹2,500 crore to modernise Chennai and Kolkata airports. The tender is only to manage and develop, not privatise, the airports, said an official.
