Karnataka Large and Medium Scale Industries Minister, Mr Murugesh Nirani said there was a proposal to set up an aerospace park on about 3,000 acres of land near the Bangalore International Airport. Highlighting the demand for investment in the aerospace sector, Mr Nirani said so far the government had received 34 proposals, out of which it had alloted land for 22 aerospace projects.
Asked about the proposed POSCO project in the state, he said farmers were demanding more compensation for the land acquired from them for setting up of the plant. POSCO had stated a requirement of 3,000 acres of land for the project and the government had assured adequate water supply to the project from the Krishna basin.
On Hero Honda shortlisting Karnataka and Gujarat for their proposed fourth plant in the country, he said the government had identified land and was ready to provide facilities for the project.
