Air fares in India will go up soon, Chairman and Managing Director of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh, said today.
Speaking at RE-INVEST, a conference-cum-expo event of the renewable energy industry organized by the government of India here, Singh said that the cost of operations were going up. With fuel prices rising and the rupee depreciating, airlines had no option but to raise ticket prices, he said.
“Nobody wants a sick industry,” Singh observed, pointing out that aviation has been one of the biggest success story of this government.
