Air India is all set to enhance its connectivity in the eastern region March-end onwards. Enhancement will be done in a phase-wise manner.

On cards is the introduction of a thrice-a-week Kolkata-Bangkok flight. This apart, it will also start a flight from Mumbai to Guwahati and a Mumbai to Ranchi service.

Plans are also afoot to introduce services along the Delhi-Guwahati-Dibrugarh sector. This will be in addition to the already existing flight from Delhi to Guwahati. This flight will also link Dibrugarh to the national capital.

According to a release issued by Air India, also on the anvil is a second Kolkata to Hyderabad flight via Bhubaneshwar.

Air India is also reinstating the day-return Kolkata-Bangalore flight, which will be in addition to the existing flight to Bangalore from the city.

With the induction of more Dreamliners to its fleet this year, Air India plans to start more direct international flights, including one from Kolkata.
