AirAsia Berhad, which is currently operating flights to Kuala Lumpur from eight destinations in India, is eyeing four more destinations, according to the CEO, Aireen Omar.
In an interaction session with the local media, she said here on Wednesday that India was a very important market for the airline and it was committed to giving "our Indian customers quality service with low fares''. She, however, did not disclose the destinations.
She said the airline had this year connected Visakhapantam to Kuala Lumpur in May and recently Goa to Kuala Lumpur. "Our performance on both the routes is satisfactory till now, though there is room for improvement. We are operating at present flights from here to Kuala Lumpur thrice a week and in future we may operate flights daily," she said.
She said the airline was offering the customers a product, Fly Thru, which enables a passenger from Visakhapatnam to go to 14 destinations across Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong and other countries via Kuala Lumpur. The onward journey can be undertaken without any hassles such as transit visas.
She said the airline was promoting Visakhapatnam in Malaysia and other countries. "We want to grow with Vizag," she added.
