AirAsia India has posted an operating loss of ₹25.6 crore for the fourth quarter of 2015. In a statement, the company said AirAsia India had recorded a 232 per cent increase in revenue to ₹208 crore with a capacity growth of 133 per cent on a year-on- year basis.
The average fare also increased 12 per cent to ₹3,626 while ancillary revenue per passenger grew 133 per cent to ₹492. Load factor improved to 84 per cent amid heightened competition from other players while total passengers carried increased 134 per cent YoY to 0.51 million.
“Our operations in India are geared to grow further after a year in service as we believe our low fares and excellent product appeals to travellers in India who remain under-served by air travel,” said Tony Fernandes, the CEO of AirAsia group.
