The Union Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Ajit Singh, will meet representatives of Air India's recognised unions in Delhi on Monday.
Official sources said that a host of issues, including the airlines turnaround, financial restructuring as well as the challenges ahead are likely to figure at the meeting.
The Minister will also touch upon the implementation of the Dharamadhikari Committee report but is unlikely to provide details of what is likely to be the outcome of its implementation. While refusing to get into the specifics, the sources claimed that it would be wrong to say that implementation of the report would lead to a drastic dip in salaries.
Sources indicated that the implementation of the report will result in “rationalisation” of wages, not a cut. The Dharamadhikari Committee had been set up to bring about integration of about 29,000 employees, including pilots, cabin crew and engineers, after the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines about five years ago.
The Indian Pilots Guild, which is spearheading the current pilot agitation, however, will not be present as it has been derecognised following the launch of the agitation.
