Alliance Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India Limited (AI), will resume operations between Kochi and Agatti in Lakshadweep Islands from March 1.
An ATR aircraft will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, an AI press release said here today.
The flight will leave Kochi at 10.20 am and reach Agatti at 11.40 am. In the return direction, it will leave Agatti at 12 pm and arrive here at 1.20 pm.
“The four times a week service on the Agatti sector will be of immense help to the Islanders,” said an official spokesperson of the airline.
The recommencement of the service would aid in increasing the tourist inflow to the picturesque coral islands of Lakshadweep, the official said.
The airlines had stopped its services to Agatti some five months ago in view of poor passenger patronage. However, it was resuming it considering the coming vacation season.
