Anoop Kumar Gupta was today appointed as Director (Electrical) of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
Gupta comes in place of Satish Kumar, who retired yesterday.
Before assuming charge, Gupta was working as Chief General Manager and also heading the electrical maintenance wing of the company for the last six years.
An electrical engineer from IIT-Roorkee and an IRSEE (Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers) officer, he has an experience of 31 years.
On DMRC’s behalf, Gupta was the Benchmarking Coordinator of NOVA Metro Group (a consortium of 14 medium sized Metro systems around the world) and was also Chief of the Disaster Management Team of Delhi Metro.
He has also studied Metro systems of Stockholm, Lisbon, New York, Paris, London and Guangzhou.
