Vinod K. Yadav, General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), today took charge of his new responsibility as Chairman, Railway Board.
He told media here that the "Indian Railways will continue to focus on safety and passenger amenities, infrastructure development will be high on priority".
Yadav succeeds Ashwani Lohani, who retired on Monday. He is an electrical engineer and belongs to the 1980 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers.
He has served two years at SCR, from January 2017. During his term, the division improved its performances on safety, expansion of infrastructure, electrification, cargo movement and passenger amenities.
