The booking for tatkal tickets will now begin at 10 a.m. on the previous day of the journey instead of 8 a.m, according to a new ruling by the Ministry of Railways.
The ruling comes into effect from July 10 .
Further, no authorised agents, including agents of IRCTC will be allowed to book tatkal tickets between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. The existing restriction of not allowing general ticket booking by these agents on the opening day between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. will also continue.
