The Rail Budget announcements focussed on the country’s wildlife circuit and pilgrimage destinations will boost tourism in these segments, travel companies said.
“To spread awareness about our the tiger, complete packages including train journey, safaris and accommodation to cover the wildlife circuit comprising Kanha, Pench and Bandhavgarh will be offered,” Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said. These measures will especially appeal to the youth as it fits the bill of budget travel, travel players said.
Travel portal Yatra has witnessed a rise in people travelling to places such as Ranthambore, Bharatpur, Bandhavgarh over the last few years.“Our bookings over the last three years has been growing consistently by over a 100 per cent year-on-year whereas last year we saw a growth of over 230 per cent,” Sharat Dhall, President, Yatra.com, told BusinessLine .
