A question mark hangs over the operations of the Dhruv helicopter. This follows the crash of a BSF helicopter during a test flight in Raipur on Sunday morning. “A decision on whether to ground the entire fleet will be taken after investigations. At the moment it is too early to say anything”, senior officials of the Director General of Civil Aviation said on Sunday.
At least three persons were said to have been injured in the crash on Sunday. Dhruv helicopter is being developed and manufactured by the Bangalore based Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
The helicopter was first deigned in 1992 but due to changing demands of the Indian Army the programme was delayed.
