Scoot, the low-cost arm of the Singapore Airlines Group, has announced plans to add three cities – Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam – into its service network.

These services will be transferred from sister airline SilkAir, said Vinod Kannan, Chief Commercial Officer, Scoot. It will be the only airline operating direct non-stop flights from Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam to Singapore.

Launch dates

Flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Singapore will be launched on May 7, 2019, and those from Coimbatore and Visakhapatnam on October 27, 2019, subject to regulatory approval.

To mark the launch, Scoot has introduced a major, limited-time sale on flights from all its India points – including Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore and Visakhapatnam – from January 14 to 28 on www.FlyScoot.com.

One-way promotional fares (inclusive of tax) begin for as low as ₹4,500 for the economy class to 27 cities in Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam via Singapore.

Scoot already operates seven existing routes in the country from Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Lucknow, and Tiruchirappalli, Kannan said.

India is a big part for growth in Asia this year, said Kannan. “As we ramp up our operations and establish a local team to help support long-term objectives, customers can look forward to more affordable fares and innovative offerings from us.”
