A Division Bench of Calcutta High Court on Thursday stayed the order that allowed ABG-LDA run Haldia Bulk Terminals’ (HBT) unfettered use of its equipment lying at the Haldia dock complex.
On March 22, the Single Bench of Justice Sanjib Banerjee issued an order giving the HBT rights to remove its equipment from the port and imposed a penalty of Rs 4 lakh on Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT).
According a press statement, KoPT had decided to challenge the order and appealed before the Division Bench. The Bench directed that KoPT’s appeal would be heard.
“KoPT has expressed its satisfaction on today’s order,” the statement noted.
