The Palghat division of Southern Railway has changed the tatkal ticket booking timings. A press release here said with effect from July 10 the booking of tatkal tickets in the Railways will start at 10 am on the previous day of the journey instead of 8 am at present.
At Palakkad Junction, Palakkad Town, Kozhikode, Thalassery, Kannur and Mangalore Central stations, one counter will be earmarked exclusively for issue of tatkal tickets between 10 am and 11 am. At Kozhikode, tatkal tickets will be issued without tokens between 10 am and 11 am.
At Ottappalam, Shoranur Junction, Angadipuram, Tirur, Ferok, Kozhikode Satellite Reservation Centre, Wayanad, Malappuram, Vadakara, Mahe, Payyannur, Kanhangad, Kasargod, Mangalore Satellite Reservation Centre, Mangalore Junction and Pollachi stations, where only one counter is available, a separate queue will be formed for tatkal tickets. These tickets will be issued on priority from 10 am to 11 am, the release said.
At all locations where reserved and unreserved tickets are issued from the same counter, the existing practice of issuing reserved tickets and tatkal tickets giving priority to un-reserved tickets during train timings will continue, it added.
