Some of centres freight rates showed a fluctuations of Rs 1,000 per 10—tonne in the local trucks transport market on Friday, following busy cargo movements amid tight truck positions.
Transporters said increased arrivals of cargo along with less availability of trucks, mainly pushed up the freight rates.
Delhi to Surat and Ahmedabad rates rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 18,000 and Rs 14,000, respectively.
Baroda and Kanpur freights also gained by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 16,000 and Rs 11,000, respectively.
Rates to Banglore also moved up by Rs 1,000 to Rs 41,000.
