With three Rafale fighter jets on display at the Aero Show here, the French ambassador played down the controversy surrounding the purchase of the aircraft claiming that no corruption was involved in the multi-billion dollar fighter jet deal with India.
French ambassador Alexandre Ziegler said Rafale was a “very good” aircraft and is expected to join the Indian Air Force within six months. He said he does not see any scandal here and the aircraft will come here (in Bengaluru) first and then join the Indian Air Force within six months.
In another development, the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) or Tejas was formally accorded the Final Operational Clearance (FOC) by the aviation certifying authorities. The release to service document, known as FOC, was handed over on Wednesday at the aero show.
