The Goa Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar, today said that the Government would ensure speedy construction of bypass roads in the mining belt where ore from leases is transported to riverfront jetties to bring down the number of accidents.
“After the Budget session, Government will take up the work of constructing bypass roads in the mining belt,” he said while replying to a condolence motion over death of school students in road mishap.
Mr Parrikar said at selected places there would be “devoted arterial roads” that will be used only for normal traffic and not mining trucks.
