The Civil Aviation Secretary, K.N. Srivastava, has said that Mumbai, Pune, Goa and Patna airports are those facing capacity constraints. He added that the Government was working to address the constraints at these airports.
Speaking at an Assocham seminar, Srivastava said on Friday that though Chennai did not suffer from capacity constraint today it could get there in the next 6-7 years. This was the reason why the Governmnet was considering Sriperumbudur airport, he said.
The Government has called a meeting of ministers and secretaries of states to push regional connectivity. The meeting is scheduled for September 10 in New Delhi.
