HAL is geared up for more Airbus orders, said T Suvarna Raju, Chairman, HAL.
Raju said that HAL is prepared to take up further orders for the production of Single Aisle (SA) forward passenger doors from Airbus.
After successfully delivering 2,500 plus ship sets of Single Aisle (SA) forward passenger doors to Airbus, he pointed out that HAL and Airbus had started the business in 1990 by signing a contract for the supply of 600 ship sets of doors.
HAL remains one of the major suppliers to Airbus and its manufactured door is fitted on every alternate Single Aisle (SA) aircraft and one HAL door is in operation every five seconds, globally.
A certificate of appreciation for 25 years of successful partnership was handed over by Srinivasan Dwarakanath, CEO, Airbus India, to Raju.
The components of the door include NC machined beams and cross members which are joined to build the box type structure. The HAL Aircraft Division has established a direct link with Airbus to access the necessary data for the purpose of customisation. The customised doors are directly delivered to the Airbus’ final assembly line at Saint-Nazaire, France.
