Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Transparency International India (TII) for the adoption of ‘Integrity Pact’.
“Considering that HAL deals with a number of domestic and international business partners for goods and services, the MoU will go a long way in establishing higher standards in our operations,” said R.K. Tyagi, Chairman, HAL.
The MoU was signed by Tyagi and Justice Kamleshwar Nath, Chairman, TII, at a function in New Delhi. HAL has so far signed Integrity Pact with 115 vendors (85 foreign and 30 Indian).
Integrity Pact is a tool developed to ensure that all activities and transactions between companies or Government departments and their suppliers are handled in a fair and transparent manner.
TII will support HAL by providing advice and resources to implement the Integrity Pact programme successfully. Incidentally, HAL is the first Defence PSU to sign such an MoU with TII.
