Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has roped in Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) to train its senior executives under the Leadership Development Programme.
HAL, under the management of the Ministry of Defence, and one of Asia’s largest aerospace company, has undertaken this initiative acknowledging the changing business environment and challenges.
“Considering the changing business environment at the national and international levels, we need to develop leadership in different fields of our activity,” HAL Chairman Dr R.K. Tyagi said in a statement.
Under the comprehensive one-year programme, 30 senior executives of HAL will be groomed by the professors of one of the premier business institutions of the country.
“Our executives need to have exposure to enable them to benchmark operational and business excellence with the best international practices,” Tyagi said, adding that HAL will soon formally tie-up with IIM-A for the purpose.
According to HAL, the participants will get international exposure besides being taught on subjects like business environment, individual and organisation, global competitive mindset, innovation and technology, strategic alliances and joint ventures, ethics and governance etc.
The training sessions will be held in seven phases that include training at IIM-A interspersed with individual and group project work on topics relevant to HAL, the company statement said.
