From now, you cannot book your air ticket for IndiGo through travel portal MakeMyTrip. The low-cost airline has pulled its content from this portal.

A statement issued by IndiGo says it has withdrawn all content from MakeMyTrip.

“The arbitrary display of fares and ‘opaque pricing' is anti-consumer and in violation of DGCA norms and directives,” the airline said, adding that this issue was raised with the portal on several occasions, but, unfortunately, there has been no resolution.

The airline added that it could not support a blatant violation of the law and something that is apparently anti-consumer, it announced.

Reacting to IndiGo's announcement, the travel portal said: “Fares and inventory on our Web site are controlled by the airlines.

All the fares are displayed as per the guidelines received and approved by the airlines, including the special fares that have been approved by the participating airlines.

It strives to give customers the best quality of services and value-based offerings.”

Jet to put fewer tickets on portal

Meanwhile, Jet Airways has reduced its inventory on this travel portal. It means, from now, there will be fewer tickets sold through MakeMyTrip.

An airline spokesperson said it had not pulled out completely from MakeMyTrip. “However, we have limited the inventory available to them, he said.”
