French development agency, AFD, will give €700,000 to French Railways, SNCF, to provide technical know-how to the Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC) — the station development arm of Indian Railways. This was explained to BusinessLine by SK Lohia, MD and CEO, IRSDC.
The technical knowhow will be provided by SNCF-Hubs and Connexions, said a release.
French agency to give grant
AFD, a French agency, has agreed to provide in-kind grant financing up to €7,00,000, through French National Railways (SNCF)-Hubs and Connexions, as a technical partner to IRSDC to support the Railway Station Development Programme in India. This will impose no financial liability on IRSDC or Indian Railways,” said the release.
IRSDC entered into an tripartite agreement with SNCF and AFD.
Suresh Angadi, Minister of State stated, “India and France have a strong and long-standing partnership in the Railways sector.
“SNCF has been associated with Indian Railways in conducting speed upgradation study for Delhi-Chandigarh section.”
