The Commissioner for Metro Rail safety (CMRS) Chetan Bakshi today handed over safety certificate to the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation CMD N C Goel in Mumbai.
The JMRC may now commence operations by May end or first week of June on 9.2 km Mansarovar-Chandpole line.
The CMRS, though, has put certain conditions before starting the service which are related to the safety of track which would be completed within 20-25 days.
“Some minor works related to safety on track have been directed by the CMRS to complete. These works will take 20-25 days more,” said Ashwani Saxena, the project director with the JMRC who was present when the CMRS released the certificate.
The Metro officials said that after completing due works, a proposal will be sent to the state government to give green signal to commence much awaited Jaipur Metro.
With the certification, the Jaipur Metro has become fourth Metro to receive safety clearance after Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
