Jet Airways said on Wednesday that it would launch a direct flight service between Mangalore and Dubai from January 3.
The proposed flight will operate six times a week with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft having 170 Economy seats, the airline said in statement.
The airline currently operates daily direct flights to Dubai from Delhi and four services a day from Mumbai.
The new flight 9W-532 will depart Mangalore at 8 PM and arrive in Dubai at 2230 hours (local time) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, it said, on return, the flight will depart Dubai at 2330 hours (local time) on the same days and arrive in Mangalore at 0430 hours (local time) next day, it added.
However, on Fridays, the flight will depart Mangalore at 1900 hours and arrive Dubai at 2130 hours (local time). On return, it will take off from Dubai at 2230 hours (local time) and arrive Mangalore at 0330 hours (local time) the next day.
Similarly on Tuesdays, it will depart from Mangalore at 1940 hours and arrive in Dubai at 2210 hours (local time), the airline said.
The additional services from Mangalore will now complement the airline’s existing Gulf operations to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah, as well as Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam from several cities in India.
