Jet Airways has announced that it will boost the capacity in the UAE-India sector by commencing daily flights from Sharjah to Thiruvananthapuram from October 30.
The airline currently operates a daily flight from Sharjah to Kochi and the addition of another daily service will further enhance its growing global network, Jet Airways Vice-President, Market Development and Pricing, Gulf and Middle East Africa, Mr Ratan Ratnakar said.
This will be the 10th daily service from the UAE to India and the 22nd Jet Airways flight from the Gulf to India.
The airline will deploy Boeing 737-800 aircraft on this new route, offering 16 premier and 138 economy seats.
Jet Airways currently operates flights to 24 international destinations. The introduction of the new flight will further strengthen its presence in the UAE.
Jet Airways’ Gulf network now serves 10 destinations in the West Asian region. The additional service to Thiruvananthapuram will now complement the airline’s existing daily Gulf operations from Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah, as well as Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam, to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.
Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 98 aircraft, with flights to 76 destinations in India and abroad.
