In a bid to reassure its users, Kandla port on Saturday said that it is providing the “highest level of service” to its users and urged them to continue to patronise it.
According to sources, the port made this attempt, apparently, to attract some of the traffic which was, in recent past, reported to be finding its way to Mundra and elsewhere.
In a statement here, Kandla port referred to “certain misgivings and doubts created in the minds of port users” on the mode of handling container traffic at Kandla, pursuant to the termination notice issued to the container terminal operator at berth numbers 11 and 12.
The port assured all its users, customers, container lines, container vessel operators and Exim trade in general, based both in India and overseas that it is “fully geared and equipped in all respects” to handle container vessels and container yard operations from the date of taking over the container terminal without any interruption or disruption in operation.
M.S. Balani, Traffic Manager, Kandla Port Trust, urged the port users to continue the calls of their respective container vessels as they will receive the highest level of service from the port.
