Work on proposed Kannur international airport would be dedicated to the nation in three years, K. Babu, minister in charge, has said.
He said this while addressing a board meeting of Kannur International Airport Ltd (KIAL). Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will open the new project office at project site in Mattannur near Kannur on Thursday.
Cochin International Airport Ltd has prepared a draft detailed project report (DPR). It has been directed to incorporate a few changes into the draft report, the minister said.
The final version is expected to be submitted very soon. Aecom Asia has been selected as project consultant. It is now studying the DPR and has also initiated work on the floating tenders for the project.
