L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd has appointed Shivanand Nimbargi as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (designate).
V B Gadgil, who played a pivotal role in bringing Hyderabad Metro project to its current stage of operations, after an illustrious career of over 44 years with L&T, will superannuate from the services of the company on May 31, 2016.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail project is at an advanced stage of implementation and soon some of the stages will transit from developmental to operational mode.
Nimbargi will assume full charge as MD & CEO, L&T MRHL, with effect from June 1, 2016. He has been inducted into the board of L&T MRHL.
He will operate from Hyderabad and will report to S N Subrahmanyan, Deputy Managing Director & President, L&T, & Chairman, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd.
Nimbargi holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from PDA Engineering College, Gulbarga University, and completed his Advanced Management Program from INSEAD.
Prior to joining L&T, he was the MD & CEO of Sembcorp Green Infra Ltd. He has had a long career in the power sector and brings with him 26 years of experience in multiple organisations, including Alstom Projects Ltd, Alstom India Ltd and Babcock & Wilcox.
His areas of expertise include sourcing, procurement, sales, business development, commissioning & erection of plants and managing various lines of businesses,

Gadgil, while welcoming Nimbargi on the board, stated that “It has been a great experience to be leading LTMRHL and bring it to the current stage.
