The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has made a plea to SpiceJet officials to begin flight services in the Madurai-Colombo sector as early as possible.
Submitting a memorandum to Mr S. Ramakrishna Reddy, Regional Manager (South) and Mr Gary Hreeman, Focus Sales Manager, SpiceJet, during their visit to the city recently, Mr N. Jegatheesan, Chamber President, said that Madurai is the gateway for international passenger and freight traffic covering nine southern districts.
Mithin Lanka Airlines and Air India Express have evinced interest for operation in the Madurai-Colombo sector, Air Asia in Kuala Lumpur-Madurai sector and Air Arabia in Madurai- Sharjah sector.
