Chennai-based low-cost carrier SpiceJet would operate non-stop daily flight between Madurai and Dubai from today.
The airline will be deploying its new generation Boeing 737-800 (189-seater aircraft) on this route, officials said.
Madurai is the fifth Indian destination to get connected with Dubai on SpiceJet network, they said.
The Madurai—Dubai flight would leave daily at 11.35 p.m. (local time) and reach Dubai at 2.20 a.m. (local time). In the return direction, the flight would leave Dubai at 3.50 a.m. and arrive Madurai at 9.45 a.m. (both respective local time).
The airline is offering an introductory fare of Rs 6,999 one-way (inclusive of all taxes) and a return fare of Rs 13,999 (inclusive of all taxes) on the route.
Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Jagadeesan said a trade delegation comprising 36 persons would leave for Dubai through this flight. The delegation would visit Cairo and Abu Dhabi.
