Railway Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge, during his maiden visit to Bangalore, held discussions with P. Dwarakanath, Chairman and Managing Director, BEML Ltd, and reviewed the supply of rail coaches to the Indian Railways.
The company is expanding its rail and metro business in order to meet the demand from Indian Railways and upcoming metro projects in different cities in the country.
The products being supplied by BEML to Indian Railways include integral rail coaches, inspection cars, electrical multiple units and stainless steel EMUs for suburban railways and utility vehicles, track laying equipment, broad-gauge railbus and spoil disposal units.
