Four coaches (Guard’s brake van, General Second Class coach, S-1 and S-2) of the Ernakulam-bound 12618 Mangala Express derailed at Pen in Raigad district of Maharshtra at 12:20 p.m. on Friday while entering the railway station.
Pen is 104 km from Mumbai CST and is situated in the Panvel (Navi Mumbai) Roha section of Central Railway’s Mumbai division.
According to a Central Railway statement, no injuries have been reported. A team of doctors, medical relief van and a breakdown train have been sent to Pen.
The GM of Central Railway and the DRM of Mumbai division have left for the site.
The train left for Ernakulam after shifting 344 passengers in other coaches, said the Central Railway’s latest update.
