The KCCI has said that maximum utilisation of NMPT remains a dream in Karnataka Budget for 2012-13.
Ms Lata Kini, President of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), said that there is no solution to the problem of connectivity through Shirady Ghat in the Budget.
Stating that this will be a constant deterrent to the economic development of the entire coastal region, she said the maximum utilisation of the well-equipped major port of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) remains a distant dream with this. KCCI's request to set up a Maritime Board has not materialised, she said.
Mr B.A. Nazeer, President of Kanara Small Industries Association, said the Budget lacks the programmes for the overall development of the State.
