As part of its ongoing trade education series relating to import/export of liquid bulk cargoes (crude oil, vegetable oil, chemicals and so on), the All-India Liquid Bulk Import and Export Association (AIBIEA) has organised a half-day seminar-cum-training programme in Mumbai on March 9 at the Indian Merchants' Chamber.
The event is supported by the Mumbai Customs House. Mr S.K. Rahaman, Additional Commissioner of Customs, will anchor the programme and explain the intricacies of self-assessment, on-site post clearance audit and data quality.
According to Mr Jayant Lapsia, President. AILBIEA, inflow of liquid bulk cargoes is expected to expand steadily to meet rising domestic demand; but many in the trade were still unsure of the specific customs clearance and documentation formalities to be complied with.
