MEP Infrastructure Developers Ltd has won an Operate, Maintain & Transfer (OMT) concessionaire for the maintenance and collection of toll at Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link for Rs 325.08 crore.
The Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link project is a 5.6-km long, eight-lane carriageway in Mumbai city.
The company had been handling the toll collection of the sea link project since its inception in July 2009 and operation and maintenance since February 2014, it said in a release.
“With this new project awarded, MEP further continuous to strengthen its position in the OMT space by handling landmark projects fostering sustainable growth, be it Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link in the West of India or Vidyasagar Setu in the East,” said Jayant D. Mhaiskar, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, MEP Infrastructure, said.
The project has been awarded by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). The contract period is three years, and the contractual amount is payable to MSRDC on a whole upfront basis.
The company currently has 8 operational projects – 4 toll collection projects (5 toll plazas) in 5 states, 3 OMT projects (covering 1,361.32 lane kms and 9 toll plazas) and 1 BOT project (covering 42 lane km and 5 toll plazas).
