The 10th edition of Aero India 2015, a premier aerospace and aviation exhibition, has been the biggest in the history of Indian aviation history.
The event has attracted participation by over 600 companies, including 295 Indian and 328 foreign companies. Of the 110 countries participating in the event, the US is representing in a big way with a 64-member delegation, followed by France with 58 delegates, Britain 48, Russia 41 and Israel 25.
The inauguration of the event by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was attended by over 1,000 delegates, substantial number of them from foreign countries.
The inaugral event witnessed a spectacular aerobatics by Indian pilots that included indigenously build LCA Tejas, the Sarang helicopter team, Tiger Moth HU-512 aerobatics team and MKI-Sukhoi-30Ks.
Among the foreign aerobatics teams were the Flying Bulls of Czech Republic, Aero Super Baltics and Aerowind Services from Britain, and Scandinavian air show team. Wasp and Open Skydiving of the US Special Forces showcased their daredevilry.
About 100 military aircraft are on static display, including P8-A maritime reconnaissance aircraft and KC-135 tanker of Boeing and EMB-145 Embraer from Brazil.
In addition, 17 types of civil aircraft, including business jets and helicopters, are on display eyeing the Indian growing civilian aviation market.
