The South Eastern Railway will run nine special weekly trains between Santragachi and Puri beginning October 1. This is mainly to clear the extra rush of passengers during Durga Puja and Diwali festivals. According an SER spokesperson, while a special train will leave Santragachi station every Monday at 9.15 pm to reach Puri the next morning, a Santragachi-bound special train will leave Puri every Tuesday evening at 6.20 pm. These 17-coach special trains will run till November 27 and will stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road stations.
