The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) has recently conducted trade meets at Mysuru-Nanjangud region where various export firms are located.
A press release said here that the NMPT administration has taken up proactive business promotion drive by organising trade meets at various locations in the hinterland.
Last week, it held trade meets with export firms such as Ranga Rao & Sons Pvt Ltd (manufacturer of incense sticks), JK Tyres, Nestle India and MK Agrotech Pvt Ltd (edible oil producer) in the region.
Companies such as JK Tyres and Ranga Rao & Sons have already begun work on exporting cargo from the New Mangalore Port. Nestle India and MK Agrotech, who are already using New Mangalore Port, have promised to divert more cargo through the port, the release added.
