Normal traffic has been restored on the Arakkonam-Katpadi section.
The railway track in the section was affected following the derailment of the Muzaffarpur–Yesvantpur Express at Chitheri near Arakkonam early in the morning on Wednesday.
The track was restored for operations by 10.30 hr today.
However, trains that have already been cancelled would remain cancelled due to operational reasons, a Southern Railway press release said.
