East Coast Railway has cancelled all mail, express, passenger and special trains on Saturday to lower the potential damage as the high intensity cyclone ‘Phailin’ is set to hit Odisha.
Trains are likely to be cancelled tomorrow as well, said an East Coast Railway spokesperson.
On Friday, the East Coast Railway had cancelled local trains and was keeping a watch on long-distance trains.
About 28 trains have been cancelled, 13 diverted and five were short-terminated as Visakhaptnam, according to East Coast Railway.
Ports in Odisha such as Paradip and Dhamra have suspended operations and advised ships to be in high sea.
